Roof replacement & extensions

vertexroofing tiling02 250Unlike many roofing contractors in Melbourne, Vertex Roofing is licensed to carry out complete roof replacements. A roof replacement involves completely removing your old roof, from the tiles down to the roof battens. You get to choose the exact style and colour of tiles you want, and we install a brand new roof for you: timbers, tiles, bedding and pointing, valleys … the lot! A roof replacement will ensure that your roof is once again doing exactly what it is supposed to do – protecting your home from the elements and keeping it (and you!) safe, snug and watertight. And on top of these functional aspects, a roof replacement will also add loads of curb appeal to your home and can dramatically increase its value.

The team at Vertex Roofing understand that a roof replacement represents a significant investment for homeowners, so it is our promise to provide you with advice you can trust when helping you decide if your roof needs repair, restoration or a complete replacement. This is based solely on the best and most economical outcome for you – and of course, on your preferences. We do not up-sell – we simply give you a detailed explanation of our findings and your options.

There is a tipping point at which it makes better economical sense to you in the long run to undertake a roof restoration or replacement rather than just repairing problem areas in a roof that is already old and showing significant signs of deterioration or widespread damage.

Reasons you might choose a roof replacement

1. Aesthetics

Giving your home a completely new roof may be simply a matter of wanting to make your home look its absolute best. Perhaps your roof has a very dated appearance, and is creating an overall impression of your home of being tired and drab. The tile shape, style and colour may be all wrong for the look you want, and simply painting your roof will only fix one of these issues. You may be renovating and want to give your roof a much more updated look to go with your newly renovated spaces. Or you may be thinking about selling, and want to increase the value of your home. Whatever the reason, Vertex Roofing can give your home the look you want by giving it the roof it deserves.

2. Your roof is in very poor condition

Sometimes a roof restoration is not enough for a roof that is very damaged, generally because of age but sometimes because of a severe weather event or damage from a falling tree. Your roof may not only look old and faded, it may be hiding all sorts of damage and rot beneath caused by the gradual seepage of water over years or a sudden inundation of water following a storm.

Some of our customers have purchased a home that is uninhabitable and looks ready for the bulldozer, but instead they choose to restore the home – and that means a whole new roof. The damage in these homes goes deeper than the tiles and bedding. Gaping holes may have allowed the water damage to extend to rotted or collapsed roof timbers. When your roof is in very poor condition overall, whether from age, water and storm damage or a falling tree, Vertex Roofing will remove the whole roof and replace it with a beautiful, safe and secure new roof that will last many years and add significant value to your home.

3. You are doing a home extension

When you undertake an extension, you want to make sure that the roof on the new section of your home ties in with the original. The team at Vertex Roofing is highly skilled at following the lines and style of the original roof, and making sure the new tiles match the original ones as closely as possible. But even the exact same tiles will look a little different because the original ones will be weathered, so we can paint the entire roof to give a completely cohesive look, in the colour of your choice. Or you may choose to go with a full roof replacement. The roof on the original part of your house may be in poor condition, so it makes sense to remove it and have a brand new roof on the entire house – in both the extension and the original part.
